TRIP Description
Wawel
Wawel Royal Castle is our national and cultural symbol. The Castle was the seat of Polish kings and leaders, their necropolis and heart of the Polish history.
Main Market Square in Cracow
From Wawel, we will go to the oldest part of the Jagiellonian University - Collegium Maius. Then we will reach the Main Market Square, which was the largest market square in medieval Europe. We will see here the most characteristic monuments of Cracow, such as: Sukiennice (Cloth Hall), Adam Mickiewicz Monument and old tenement houses located around the market square. We will also visit the St. Mary's Basilica, which is famous for its beautiful Gothic altar sculpted by master Veit Stoss.
Salt Mine in Wieliczka - Tourist Route
It is the only mine in the world which has been continuously operating since the Middle Ages. Once the visit is over, you can rest in a unique complex of chambers situated 125m under the ground where you will find souvenir shops, restaurant and post office.
It is worth reminding that in 1978 the Salt Mine in Wieliczka, Wawel Royal Castle, Old Town and Kazimierz district were listed World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.
